Hedgehog prints in a tracking tunnel.
Can you tell the difference between fore and hindfeet? Hindfeet prints tend to be longer and slightly narrower than forefoot prints. Also note how sometimes prints will overlap. The toes are slightly turned out from the mid-line. The claws are long and sharp and can sometimes show in prints.
The gait will vary depending on how the hedgehog is moving. If running, the gait (distance between feet) is about 10cm and the body is held off the ground. When feeding or exploring, the body is held lower and some of the spines may drag on the ground.
