Wapiti droppings 1sq

Wapiti droppings.

Usually found in groups of scattered pellets that are elongated and more pointed at one end. Size varies depending on age of the dropping, the season and (in Fiordland) the degree of hybridisation with red deer. Fresh droppings are black or dark brown and look moist but, over time, dry out and fade to a dull light brown colour.
