Cat footprints in sand.
Cats walk diagonally i.e. the left forefoot moves at the same time as the right hindfoot, and vice versa. The foreprints are usually a little larger because the forepaw tends to roll forward more, brining more of the paw into contact with the ground. It is unusual for the nails (which are retractable) to leave marks but in this soft surface the rolling motion of the forepaws has left clearly visible nail marks.
