Rabbit and hare droppings.
Note differences in colour and texture between rabbit (bottom) and hare (top) droppings.
- Top row: Older hare pellets, including those that have retained their shape and size, but faded to a grey colour, through to very old pellets that have abraded and reduced in size.
- Second row: Typical fresh adult hare pellets.
- Third row: Typical fresh rabbit pellets - note the range of sizes, but the consistent shape and dark colour.
- Fourth row: Larger pellets from a rabbit ‘buck heap’.
